Our Story
Our Story
My name is Bridget Wanner, myself, my husband Gregg, and son Trenton all work together to create dreams into reality. You can often find them helping with set prep, and as pop up characters throughout the holiday seasons!
I have forever been the one behind a camera, dressing my siblings up and taking pictures, at the parties growing up through high school and college and then throughout our son's life. I loved capturing all the moments! I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and have worked in children and family services for almost 20 years in several different areas. My love is children!
I have struggled to get pregnant for over 14 years with 2 losses. The stress from this really got to me a few years ago and I quit a job I absolutely loved, after almost 20 years working with children and families. This allowed me time to take a break with the support of my husband.
My little sister was pregnant and asked me to take maternity pictures. I had my phone that was it. So, we went and had the best day ever! 3 months later with soul searching, exercise and a change in eating habits and we were pregnant! and then.... we lost our baby, I was hospitalized and lost the baby and my rt tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. I have always had a strong feeling it was a little girl. In order to process this loss, I asked Gregg if we could name her and honor her. We had already been discussing names, but I was certain now, Birdie Lynn. Gregg's brother passed from Leukemia a few years ago and his PG version (we won't discuss the other version, but if you know, you know) of my name was Bird. He sang " Bird's the word" from Family Guy literally every time I walked into the hospital room. So, this was just fitting as she would be with her Uncle.
When discussing getting pregnant again the Dr. suggested keeping my stress levels low. I talked about Photography, and he thought it was a great outlet. After my sister's session I had several people reaching out to me. So, we invested in a camera package with the help of my brother, and I started, Birdie Lynn Photography a little over 3 years ago.
It has grown so much over the years! I am so grateful for you all who have been on this journey with us! It has been a blessing! I love capturing all of your moments, being there for those special moments, rebuilding friendships and building new friendships throughout these years! I really love what I do and never expected it to grow into something that I can say I am able to do full time as of this year!
We first started with editing all on my phone. We then moved to 2 laptops, which I crashed both of them within months apart. Last spring, we invested in a new computer with lots of room! (Thank God for Gregg! He is so helpful in these areas) Then we invested in new editing software! We are about 7 months into the new software, and I am loving the difference it has made!
I love being creative whether that is with set design, locations and or editing styles. I love working with clients to capture what they are looking for. Some of the best moments are just adventuring around the location. I will often have a few different areas at each session depending on the session style. I really feel it is an artform and that no two sessions should look identical.
We have lots of plans for the upcoming year and I am I am so excited to share them with you!
